Who we are
PhotoFridge is developed by iBozen Labs. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. Questions: labs@ibozenlabs.com.
Data we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Apple or Google, our authentication provider (Clerk) receives your name, email address and profile picture.
- Food and cooking data. Your inventory items, recipes, grocery list, cooking activity and preferences are stored on your device and, when you are signed in, synced to our backend (Convex) so your data follows your account.
- Fridge photos. Captured only when you choose to scan your fridge.
- Usage data. Which features you use, plus masked session recordings, via PostHog — see Analytics below.
AI processing (OpenAI)
With your consent, fridge photos and ingredient lists are sent to OpenAI to detect food items and generate recipes. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models and may retain it briefly (up to 30 days) for abuse monitoring before deletion. You can decline or withdraw consent at any time; the app does not send anything to OpenAI without your consent.
Analytics (PostHog)
We use PostHog to understand how the app is used so we can find and fix problems. It records which features you use and when (for example that a scan succeeded or failed), your device type and app version. It also captures session recordings of your screen, with all images and all text you type automatically masked, so your fridge photos and personal details are not visible in them. We never send your food data — photos, ingredient names or recipes — to PostHog.
Subscriptions
PhotoFridge Pro is handled by RevenueCat and Apple. We receive your subscription status so the app knows whether to unlock Pro features. We never see your payment details — those stay with Apple.
What we don't do
We do not sell your data, show ads, or use advertising trackers.
Retention and deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time, from inside the app: Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, inventory, recipes and progress from your device and from our servers. Local data can also be cleared with Delete All Data, or by uninstalling the app.
Your data is kept while your account is active.
Security
Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Credentials are stored in your device's encrypted secure storage (iOS Keychain).
Children
PhotoFridge is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date. The same policy is available inside the app under Profile → Privacy & Security.
